Familial Betrayal

My wallet went missing one fine morning. The new maid was made scapegoat.

Sometime later, dollars disappeared. I took the blame.
Maybe, I dropped them somewhere – I mused.

His confidence soared. Fortunately at the next attempt, I caught him red-handed.

I disowned him as easily as I’d made him family.
Now, I cook my own meals.
