She called. She was selling some sort of card. He wasn’t interested. He, however, tricked her into meeting him for the application formalities.

Over coffee, when he revealed his true intentions, she wasn’t surprised. They entered a mutual agreement.

She had a monthly target to meet. He had a bet to win.

I bought the card.

  5. 🙂 Interesting take. I had to read it twice though 😀 Perhaps this is one of your good ones in ’55 fiction.
