Quick Byte #12, The Ride To Ooty

with 4 comments

It just gets better and better with each passing day. Day 7 on the BSA Tour Of Nilgiris was tough but exhilarating for the riders. Tough because of the ascent. No more because of bad roads. By the time riders reached Support Station 2, they had clocked 40 odd kilometers, riding uphill all the way.

It was interesting to note their expressions and observations as they halted to catch some breath.

Sharath Raju – Amma Amma … Appa Appa …

Reena Chengappa got off the saddle with a thumbs up screaming – Jack of the roads!

Shreyas Chowhan came in a second later, heaving a sigh of relief – Moment of truth

KM Thammiah braked and followed it with a loud – Aaaaahhhh

On seeing Anand Mulky sweating it out, Adarsh Parekh remarked – Dum Laga Ke Haiyya.
To which Anand said – G***d Phati Bhaiyya

Manish Bhatnagar seemed to have run out of swear words – Oh Man! F**K S**T

Gaurav Lodha had some words to say – Words aren’t coming …

Someone suggested that instead of BSA being the title sponsor, it should have been Kingfisher. At least then there’d be calendar girls at the Support Stations.

Riders took their sweet time climbing to Ooty, relaxing and chit-chatting all the while. The fastest, Gaurav Dwivedi, reached at around noon. All made it to Queen’s Residency, Ooty before dark.

I came in much later. That is a different story I’ll share some other time.

  4. Gaurav – On the way back Sharath gave me his bike in Bandipur to ride. It was fun riding in the wild. All the riders are tough and have so much energy.

You must talk about elephant chasing Shiva. hehhehe
