Stress Buster ?

with 7 comments

With 9 days to go before 100 are gone for the year 2008, I guess it is an apt time to take stock of what was, what is and what will be.

Sometime back, I wrote this and still endorse it. I have bought the idea of living life in the present a bit too seriously, I feel. Not that I have seen major mishaps owing to that but the last 91 days have just whizzed past.

There is one life to live and there is so much to be done …. Don’t you think so?

I foresee this post turning into a huge mess of entwined thoughts but what the heck … have u not read experts(?) reporting blogging as a major stress buster? I grant the authority to use this post as a case in point for their next research project 😛

Did I say stress … ?

Time for a quick analysis:-

#1 I am at an all time low as far as fitness levels are concerned. I did make conscious efforts in this direction but in vain
[ 4 fags have made it to my lungs in the last 45 days or so and I rarely feel like lighting another. I can safely say that I have quit. I feel happy about it!
I am not too keen on bulging muscles and the likes but definitely aspire for a toned and fit body. The so called MNC I work with, lacks even a basic fitness center and gymnasiums elsewhere quote a whopping 10k minimum for a 6 month membership 😐 talk of the high living cost in Bangalore. My disposition of putting that kind of moolah to a better use would have to change I guess.
Just returned empty-handed from NGV Sports Complex where I had gone to play Badminton with a buddy after months of deliberation. The courts were all booked for the evening 😐 ]

#2 Relationships have gone for a toss. I clocked the lowest mobile bill in years last month and the story is gonna be the same this month too.
[ If breaking up is a skill, I sorely lack it. More often than not I relish the hassle-free life of a singleton. But there are occasions when I yearn for company and feel lonely. I have no clue as to how long is a good time to carry the tag – ‘Single and Ready to Mingle’?
To add salt to my wounds, the timing of my roomies moving out could not have been better. I have been staying alone in a 3BHK for as long as, I still will – a fortnight or so. Friends visit and I too visit them but … ]

#3 On the professional front, I seem to be stuck in a rut. No matter how hard I try, I fail to see any motivation apart from the paycheck, which too has been losing its charm over the months.
[ The MBA dream has been lying on the back-burner for ages and will die of asphyxiation soon. I put forward all vague answers when folks ask about it.
The entrepreneurial spirit ebbs and flows for umpteen reasons. I am beginning to doubt my guts … yea that is true 😐 ]

Excuse me for this sorry post. I do not know what amount of stress has been busted while composing this but what I know is that I have a conference call in another 10 minutes – 2100hrs IST / 0830hrs PST 🙂

  3. Blogging sure is a stress buster and I use it more than often to pour out my feelings/ frustrations!! 🙂
And hey, you are not alone in feeling what you are, I’ve been pretty much going through the same, from smokes to relationships to work.. Last weekend was so insane and I felt soo terribly lonely that I ran off home for the weekend and further extended it to two days!! And now I feel such a loser after coming back to work… 😦

  5. The mobile bills are reduced because primarily your mobile is a FM Radio…so you should listen to a lot of songs for free…

cheer up buddy…you will slim down one day…and things will only get better from here 😀
