What does it take to …

He is determined to say it today. He has been mentally preparing for it all day. He dials the number which accounts for most of his mobile phone bill.

He is greeted with a … o so soothing ‘Hi’ and before he is able to say anything, he is told that she was thinking and talking about him with her roomies. She sounds so chirpy. The urgency to speak his mind fades this very moment.

And then they talk … talk about Rajma-Chawal/Olivers Story/Australia and numerous things. In between she begins to hum the song that is playing in the background here. He listens quietly. He has forgotten the very motive of this call. It suddenly comes back and he gently tries to steer the conversation in that direction but with no luck.

The call lasts till his phone is on the verge of dying and he ends the agony on the pretext that tomorrow being a Monday, he needs to prepare for a meeting and wake up early.

He ends the call, unsuccessful in his attempt to … end it all!
